Teaching aid refers to an object that a teacher can use to enhance or enliven a classroom . This objects can be books, pictures, maps or devices such as c DVD or a computer. Non-digital materials refers to resources of information that are not represented by numbers, especially binary codes, not digitalized, they usually have only their location information in the digital library. Examples of non-digital medias are chalk board, textbooks and newspapers.

Textbooks transmit knowledge ,skills, attitudes, values , Textbook's also provides a reliable point of reference , It is available for generation , Good text books are excellent teaching aids as they are used both by the educators and the learners.

Teachers uses textbooks by choosing random random partner pairings. Rather than reading through a textbook as a class or having students read it on their own. Teachers provide choices of pages that they want learners to read. Through using textbooks they make real life connections, textbooks also include outside resources and also contribute on note taking.
Benefits of teaching using a text book in a subject of ones choice
Textbooks are usually helpful for beginning teachers , as they provide organized units of work. A textbook series also provide with a balanced presentation of information. Another advantage of textbook is that many come with supplementary materials that complement the lesson a teacher uses. Supplementary materials could be DVD's that have videos and audios clips of information relating to the topics of study and also companion websites that provide additional information.

First among them is the ease at which they allow the learners to find information , textbooks are usually written with detailed contents pages and indexes that if designed properly can be used to quickly find what the learner is looking for. Textbooks also provide structure for a learner.
Teachers don't usually spend a lot of time coming up with novel lesson ideas as they use the textbooks because the material and structure of lessons are often very detailed .Teachers also add to their existing knowledge by using textbooks when teaching learners in class.
